General Configuration

Due to the ever evolving market of SIP devices, it is very difficult to have a detailed setup for every device. All SIP devices use the same basic details to connect to our service. These details are shown below. If you consult your manufactures guide you should be able to configure your device in minutes.

Many devices have different names for their variables, so these have been included below:

Username/Authenticate ID/Authorised User/Account Name:

This is the username of the extension you are setting up, this can be found in the 'Extension' section of your control panel.

Password/PIN:

This is the password associated with the extension, this is listed on the same screen as your extension's usename, which is shown under the 'Extension' section of your control panel.

SIP Server/Proxy/Registrar:

You should set this value to the voicehost server 'sip.voicehost.co.uk'.

SIP Port:

This value should be set to '5060'.

STUN Server:

The STUN server variable is not often needed as the device can determine this from the above details, however if your device only has one way sound, this could be caused by your router. To correct this problem, try entering the following in the STUN server field 'stun.voicehost.co.uk:5000'.

Testing:

To test your device has been set-up correctly, you can dial the following number to receive a VoiceHost welcome message:

1234 - VoiceHost welcome message
