X-Lite Version 3 Configuration

The X-lite configuration is a quick and easy process. To setup your copy of X-lite please follow the instructions below.

1.) Download and install the X-lite softphone:

     X-Lite 3 for Windows - Download or X-Lite for Mac - Download

2.) Load the application by clicking the X-lite icon

3.) If this is the first time you have loaded the softphone you will be shown the 'SIP Account' properties screen as below, if this is not your first time, select the down arrow and select the 'SIP Account Settings...' option:

4.) Select the 'Add...' button which will show you the account properties window, as pictured below:

6.) Enter the relevant username and password, that can be obtained from the VoiceHost control panel under the 'Extension Config' section. Alternatively, log-in and return to this page for the correct username and password for your account.

7.) Select the Topology tab, which will show the following screen:

8.) Select the 'Use local IP address' if you are on a network using a router. Click 'Apply' and 'OK'.

9.) To prevent the sofphone disconnecting calls after 30 seconds we recommend changing the 'Call Inactivity' settings. Select the drop down arrow at the top of the softphone, then select options.

10.) Select the 'Advanced' tab from the bottom left of the screen and then select the 'Network' icon. You will be shown the folloing screen:

11.) Untick the 'In times of network disruption, automatically hang up calls after' option.

12.) You have now successfully setup your X-lite software. You can select the 'Apply' and 'OK' button and test the phone by calling 1234 where you will receive a VoiceHost welcome message.
