Virtual Telephone Numbers

The World is your office:international telephone numbers

Telephone numbers are no longer fixed to physical lines and the dynamics of VoIP allows users to instantly appoint unlimited number types to suit their needs.
VoiceHost can offer you a wide range of telephone numbers to give you the flexibility and presence that a fixed line service simply cannot do. Converting numbers to VoIP is easy and VoiceHost is able to port telephone numbers from most networks into the cloud.

VoiceHost offers UK wide geographic (01, 02) and non-geographic (03, 08) telephone numbers, virtual mobile (07) along with phone numbers from over 70 countries and thousands of cities internationally.

Presenting the best possible image includes getting the right phone number and is pivotal to any brand. You can create quality opportunities, generate new business or tactically target the customers you want. You'll find certain phone numbers will suit your business better than others.

VoiceHost has its own OFCOM UK telephone number allocations which means that you can choose from a large pool of numbers from around Britain including London to Glasgow and Belfast.

What are 0300 numbers? - The non-geographic 0300 dialling code was introduced by telecoms regulator Ofcom in order to allow not-for-profit organisations, charities and public bodies to offer consumers a single point of contact nationally.

An 0300 number is a special type of landline-rate phone number used by government bodies, the public sector, charities and not-for-profit organisations. Unlike traditional landline phone numbers, 0300 numbers are not linked with specific geographic locations. However, the cost to call an 0300 number within the UK is always the same as calling a normal home or business landline.

VoiceHost can provide these along with other specialist service numbering such as premium rate and revenue sharing (084, 087 and 09).

"International telephone numbers give you an instant flexible global presence"

Telephone Number Presentation or CLI Spoofing is also a service that VoiceHost can offer customers. Number presentation or CLI spoofing is the the ability to manipulate the calling number display to another number, nominated or provided by the caller that can identify that caller or be used to make a return or subsequent call.

Premium rate number services 09 and revenue sharing are available on request. Please be aware of the regulation of premium number services within the United Kingdom, further details can be found on the PhonepayPlus website:

VoiceHost offers complete coverage of UK area codes (01xx and 02xx). You can choose VoIP telephone numbers from as many geographic locations as you wish, giving you a virtual presence in towns and cities such as London, Manchester, Belfast and Glasgow.
Most people prefer to call a business that's local, particularly if they're calling a tradesperson, shop or a taxi company. Local numbers can help build trust and they'll also save money for your customers, as calls to 01/02 numbers are often included for free in landline and mobile packages.

  • Our most popular range - The majority of people (77%) prefer to call a business that's local to them
  • Low-cost calls - It costs the same to call as a landline, so is free if you have inclusive minutes
  • Every town, every city - We have 100% UK coverage, so you can get a number for any town or city
  • Growth accelerator - Expand your business reach and start advertising in new areas

Also known as UK Wide Numbers, 0333 Numbers are not linked to a specific town or area and provide businesses with national coverage.
UK wide 0333 numbers are great for your callers as they cost the same as calls to 01 or 02 Numbers. As more and more of your customers are calling from mobiles, an 0843 or 0845 number can cost callers more due to these numbers not being included in price plans.
Calls to 03 numbers will cost the same as calls to 01 and 02 prefixed numbers and will be included as part of any inclusive minutes or discount package, therefore allowing customers to call you for the same price as they would be charged for calls to standard geographic numbers while still allowing your national presence.

0800 freephone numbers are a fantastic and low-cost way to increase sales calls to your business. Freephone numbers encourage customers to call you at no charge to themselves. Research has shown that 0800 numbers can increase calls to your business by 300%, this can increase sales leads and improve customer relations.

Freephone 0800 telephone numbers and their lesser-known counterpart 0808 Freephone numbers have recently gained new appeal. Introduced in November 1985 they give the caller no charge for calling the Freephone number(s). The cost of the call is instead, picked up by the company that owns the Freephone number; making it more attractive to callers as there is no charge to them regardless of the call duration.

A major stumbling block in the uptake of Freephone 0800 and 0808 telephone numbers in recent years has been the meteoric rise of the mobile phone. Mobile networks would simply block Freephone 0800 and 0808 telephone calls or charge a significantly higher rate, with the exception of a couple of niche mobile operators.

“An 0800 number gives your company a national image and can increase incoming calls by up to 300% more than a standard number."

Since July 2015 all mobile operators in the UK were told by Ofcom to allow Freephone 0800 and 0808 calls over mobile networks with no charge to the caller. This resurrection has brought Freephone en vogue again for businesses looking to project a customer-centric ethos.
The statistics state that the quid pro quo for fronting the cost of the call to customers is a much higher level of existing customer satisfaction and retention along with vastly greater scope for attracting new business.

"Consumers see an 0800 freephone number as a sign that a company wants their business and is willing to remove the hassle and cost of contact."
(source: Henley Centre Telebusiness Survey)

Teleculture 2000 say that "63% of consumers prefer doing business with companies offering an 0800 freephone number."

The Henley Research Centre says that "68% of people feel that companies who offer 0800 numbers care more about their customers."

VoiceHost offers free 0843 telephone numbers, so you can have multiple numbers on your account. Maybe one for friends and family and another for business. Of course, you have full control of where the calls to these numbers are sent. For example, you may wish to use the Virtual PBX system that allows you to ring a group of extensions when a number is called or just one extension. You can also use the Caller ID Rewriting to identify which of these numbers has been called!

What makes a telephone number memorable?

Memorable Numbers are often also referred to as vanity, gold or special numbers. A telephone number could be classed as memorable because of repeating or sequential digits, or there could just be some significance for a particular company. So your memorable number could end 666 or maybe 123456 helping you stand out from the competition. You often see these types of numbers being used by taxi companies. By making your number more memorable, you can encourage repeat calls from your customers as well as boosting your company's professional image - after all, memorable numbers look great. We offer three different levels of telephone numbers, to help you find the perfect number for your business

Moving numbers between networks (Number Porting)

Number porting is a change in the CP (Communications Provider) of a telephone number. Number porting does not change the allocated RH (Rangeholder) of a number, as the calls will always route through the RH systems. When a number ports from an analogue or digital line, the original line is ceased. This means that any and all additional services on the telephone line will also be ceased, e.g broadband. Prefixing on analogue and digital lines (ISDN) from BT happens at the exchange level.
